Success Stories

Out of the blue one Sunday morning, I received a call from a woman named Susan whom I had never met. She was helping her elderly mother who had just moved into assisted living and needed to sell the condominium she had lived in for over twenty years. When I asked Susan how she had found me, she said “We were ready to list with another agent. Then one afternoon we were going through my mother’s things and found your postcards. They were so beautiful she had saved them all. We just had to call you!”

When I met with Susan and her sister Barbara we had an instant connection. These ladies were facing a challenging situation… their mother had already moved and because of financial pressures, she needed to sell her condominium as soon as possible.  Within six days of signing our listing agreement, I had arranged to have the condo painted, cleaned, carpeted, landscaped, grouted, inspected and staged. With all our marketing materials in place, it went on the market on the seventh day. The condo looked beautiful and sold immediately.

“Marguerite, you helped my sister and I sell my mother’s condominium when we had to move her to a senior residence community. You were highly professional, effective and hard-working. You also showed personal concern and sensitivity to the situation that helped so much in getting through this difficult time. I would use you again for all my buying and selling needs.”

Joanne and I met when she visited one of my Sunday open houses. The first thing she said to me was “This is the first place I’ve seen and it’s exactly what I’m looking for! I’m going to get my husband and bring him back!”

After several of her family members had seen the condominium and loved it, Joanne asked me to represent her and her husband Ron in purchasing it. Then she invited me to her home in the hills to discuss putting it on the market. As the three of us sat around the dining room table talking, I learned that the house was the only one they had ever lived in as a couple. Joanne and Ron had purchased it right after their wedding… fifty-two years before! They had raised their children there and had several decades of family memories and mementos to process before leaving.

Sorting through one’s history while deciding what to keep and what to part with is a very difficult thing.  Joanne and Ron handled it with tremendous grace. Working with the team of organizers, estate sale specialists, packers and movers I had assembled, we managed to distinguish the belongings that were most meaningful to them and arrange everything beautifully in their new home.

“How fortunate we were to have met you, Marguerite when you were representing the seller of the condominium we ultimately purchased. Your seamless and transparent handling of that transaction convinced us that you were the one to be our agent for the sale of our home from which we were downsizing after nearly fifty-three years. Your knowledge and guidance of all the procedures required, the pricing advice and the pitfalls to avoid was most appreciated as was the comforting support of our needs in that time of transition. You are a genuinely caring professional!”
